Happy Bevrijdingsdag!

While most of you will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo today, I'm here to tell you that there is another important reason to celebrate today! May 5 is Dutch Liberation Day! (Bevrijdingsdag) May 5, 1945 marked the end of German occupation in Holland during WWII. My grandparents were there during this time, and we have pictures of my Oma (my grandma) riding on the trucks with the American troops to celebrate! So somewhere in between the margaritas and Coronas, drink a Heineken today to celebrate the Dutch! :)
